Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about how projects work, what we need from you, and what results can realistically show.
Questions
Everything researchers usually ask
What kinds of research projects do you support?
CBRAnalytics supports a range of bioinformatics and molecular biology analysis projects, including sequence analysis, microbial genomics, microbiome studies, gene-expression data, structural bioinformatics, statistics, and scientific visualisation. The exact scope depends on the project and the data available.
I am not sure which analysis I need. Can I still get in touch?
Yes. Describe your research question, what data you have, and what you hope to understand. We can discuss possible approaches and clarify what information is needed before quoting.
Which file formats can I provide?
This depends on the service. Common examples include FASTA, FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, VCF, count tables, metadata spreadsheets, and common tabular formats. Please describe your files first, and do not send restricted or sensitive files through an unapproved channel.
Can you analyse data for a thesis or manuscript?
Research analysis and scientific interpretation support may be available depending on project scope. The researcher remains responsible for understanding the work, following institutional rules, accurately reporting methods, and complying with authorship and research-integrity policies. We do not fabricate data, results, citations, or experimental outcomes.
Do you provide publication-ready figures?
Figures can be prepared to agreed specifications. Publication does not depend on figure appearance alone; the underlying analysis, study design, and interpretation must also be appropriate.
How much do services cost?
Pricing depends on the data type, sample count, analysis complexity, input quality, requested deliverables, and timeline. Contact us with a short project brief for a tailored quotation.
How long will analysis take?
Turnaround depends on project scope, data quality, computational requirements, and current workload. A timeline is confirmed after reviewing the project, rather than promised before we have seen the data.
Will my data remain confidential?
Confidentiality requirements are discussed before data transfer. We will explain the applicable access, storage, retention, and deletion arrangements for your project. Please do not claim or assume a specific encryption standard or certification until it has been confirmed for your engagement.
Do you work with international researchers?
We aim to work with researchers regardless of location, subject to communication and payment arrangements being suitable for both sides. Specific payment and tax details are confirmed during scoping.
Do you perform laboratory experiments?
Wet-lab work is available only where the required facilities, permissions, materials, and arrangements are confirmed. Computational services and laboratory services are treated as distinct.
Can you guarantee a positive or publishable result?
No. Scientific analysis cannot ethically guarantee a particular outcome, statistical significance, acceptance by a journal, or publication. The goal is a suitable method, transparent reporting, and a defensible interpretation.
Still have a question?
